The River City Classic was founded in 2016 and hosted its inaugural event on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at the Paul Albrechtsen Multiplex, located on the St. Paul's High School campus.
Hosted annually in the fall, the River City Classic became the second signature tournament of the UTSS, joining the Community Challenge that started in 2010. Since the creation of the Super Series in 2018, the River City Classic has been an included event and the first stop of the season series.
